The Icehouse Center For Creativity, Craft and Design Features Exhibit by Wood Workers

The Icehouse Center For Creativity, Craft and Design in Davidson, NC, is presenting the exhibit, Work From the Wood Studio, from July 9 - 30, 2004.

Local wood artists join the Icehouse Center for an exciting look at woodturning and wood working in our area. David Kaylor, Rick Erks, Don Olsen, and Rich Risenhuber award winning bird carver, are a few of the talented artists who were chosen for this invitational exhibition. The show will be mounted in the newly renovated gallery space adjacent to the Icehouse Center Studios.

The woodworking exhibition, along with the inception of the Special Guest Artist program, featuring sterling silver jewelry by Deborah Armstrong will open during Gallery Nights at the Lake, a night of music, art and fun with the Icehouse Center, breathe art space, and Summit Coffee, which will take place on July 9, 2004, from 6-9pm. Walk the tree-lined streets of Davidson with a great cup of java, bring your family, friends or a date and view local and national artists' work. Catch some live music along with free ceramic and wood demonstrations in the Icehouse Studios. The fun continues as breathe art space brings us "rituals", a group exhibition. You can mingle with some of North Carolina's finest emerging artists while taking in the ritual of a great cup of coffee from Summit Coffee. Gallery Nights at the Lake continues through the summer.

The Icehouse Center For Creativity, Craft and Design is a non-profit organization committed to providing creative opportunities for the people of the North Mecklenburg - Lake Norman region to enjoy and develop skills in a wide range of craft, design, and visual arts disciplines through professional instruction, cultural activities, and access to resources that foster creativity.
