Vadim Bora Gallery in Asheville, NC, Features Drawing by Vadim Bora

The Vadim Bora Gallery in the Haywood Park Hotel in Asheville, NC, will be presenting the exhibit, Drawings: The Narrative, featuring a compilation of over 15 years of drawings by master sculptor and painter Vadim Bora from July 1 - 31, 2004.

Bora, a native of the Caucasus Mountains in Southern Russia is now an Asheville-based artist who has delved into his notebooks of intricately recorded narratives in graphite, ink, and charcoal, some of which are the basis for paintings and sculptures, while others stand by themselves as complete stories, utilizing Bora's tribal heritage of storytelling inherent in the Caucasus culture.

Bora's drawings chronicle folklore, philosophy, symbolism, and man's nature as seen through the prism of an artist who began his career under the rigid Soviet system, only to break free and find his way to divining the essence of art every day in every work in a chaotic world.
