Wilkes Art Gallery in North Wilkesboro, NC, Features an Exhibition of Works by The Other Group

"The Other Group" is a collective of talented artists. The groups' work is diverse, creating a broad representation of art. By meeting monthly for open discussions of current works in progress, as well as, contemporary art topics, a strong unity between the thirteen members is created. Member artists in "The Other Group" are Thomas Thielemann of Lenoir, Lynda Lea Bonkemeyer of Lenoir, Andrew Atkin of Granite Falls, Victoria Bauer of Newton, Jean Cauthen of Newton, Vae Hamilton of Lenoir, Jane Harrison of Hickory, Deborah Klein of Hickory, Bobbi Miller of Hickory, Tom Oakley of Lenoir, Will Pilchard of Boone, Pat Pilchard of Boone, and Ellen Schwarzbek of Hickory. All active in exhibiting their own works, "The Other Group" shows together one to two times per year making this exhibition unique to the Wilkes Art Gallery.

Works displayed in this exhibit range from paintings and photography to mixed media and pottery. Each member of "The Other Group" has their own unique style of work and brings something special to the group. This exhibit will be on display through July 31, 2004.

The Wilkes Art Gallery is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to promoting the visual arts through monthly exhibitions open to the public, classes, workshops and field trips for all ages. WAG believes art is a necessary and enriching component of a well-rounded life.
