Metropolitan Arts Council and Centre Stage Group in Greenville, SC, Collaborate on Exhibitions

The Metropolitan Arts Council (MAC) and Centre Stage - South Carolina announce a collaboration of visual and performing arts to be displayed at the theatre's facility on 501 River Street in downtown Greenville, SC.

"Centre Stage - South Carolina is the perfect setting to display the works of local artists, and the artist members of MAC have proven to be some of the best and most diverse artists in the area," said B.J. Koonce, Executive Director of Centre Stage - South Carolina. "Now our theatre patrons can sample the incredible talent of local artists when coming to one of our productions. It is so important that both visual and performing artists work together to raise awareness and support of all art forms," Koonce continued.

The artists will be juried by a committee organized by MAC with input from Koonce. "This collaboration is another service to our visual artist members in terms of display space in addition to the MAC gallery, and Centre Stage's facility will broaden the exhibiting artists' range of potential buyers," commented Janet T. Newcomb, MAC Executive Director.

The first exhibition will be Night Stages, featuring works by Greenville watercolorist Lynn Greer. It will be on view from July 22 through Aug. 30, 2005. Other following exhibits will often be group displays of several artists, offered on an ongoing basis.
