Spartanburg Artists Guild in Spartanburg, SC, Features Works by Lorraine Martinie

It's All About Color, an exhibit of works by Lorraine Martinie will be on display at the Guild Gallery of the Spartanburg Arts Center, in Sparta1nburg, SC, from July 5 - 28, 2005.

Martinie's work, in watercolor, acrylic and pastel, is sometimes traditional, sometimes abstract, and collage is her favorite form of expression.

"Color and texture are important components of my painting, which include landscapes, still life and abstracts in soft pastels and water media," said the artist, who enjoys traveling and incorporating the experiences she has into her art. "Besides painting for my own enjoyment, I have a strong desire to involve the viewer in my artistic journey".

Martinie's studio is located in Simpsonville, SC. She has exhibited her work throughout the Carolinas and Georgia. Martinie attended Montgomery County Community College in Blue Bell, PA, and received an Associate of Arts degree from the Greenville Co. Museum of Art.
