Foster's Gallery in Huntersville, NC, Offers Works by Carolyn Saine

Foster's Gallery in Huntersville, NC, will present an exhibit, Mind and Nature, featuring works by Carolyn Saine. The exhibit will be on view from July 25 through Aug. 23, 2008.

Without benefit of any formal art training, Saine attributes her "eye" for light and shadows to her grandfather, an amateur photographer. Her art skills were developed through personal study, workshops and several art mentors.

Working in acrylic, watercolor, and pastels, Saine's art comes from nature and her imagination. Her art is defined by vivid colors and imaginative subjects.  A saying or dream may trigger a painting. Over the years realism has given way to looser brushwork, abstract content and most recently, digitally altered images of her own photographs. Saine's play of light over objects is mesmerizing, showing the viewer another way to see the ordinary as extraordinary.

Although family commitments and business obligations have put Saine's art on hold several times, she returns to it each time with new energy, ideas and a renewed passion for painting.

After moving to the Lake Norman area in the 1980's Saine painted and published one of the areas first posters. She has taught private lessons, and acted as judge for local art shows. Her art has been accepted into many juried shows throughout NC and has won numerous awards. Saine's art is in many private collections through out the United States.
