Wickwire Gallery in Hendersonville, NC, Features Clay Works by David Bellar

Wickwire fine art/folk art in Hendersonville, NC, will present an exhbition of works by potter, David Bellar from Aug. 1 - 31, 2004.

"With clay," says Bellar, "the possibilities are endless!" This magical material has given Bellar an ideal outlet for his artistic expression. He likes to constantly create the unusual, one-of-a-kind works. For over a decade, Bellar has created a variety of works. Originally he started out heading up the "technical support department" of a collaborative studio. There he soon discovered the challenging nature of design in clay.

Bellar now enjoys exploring as many different kinds of clay work as possible. His creative energies lie in assembling his works from parts made from slabs off the wheel or strictly hand-built into compositions that are long on personality. "It is my hope the collector of my work feels the love and energy put into each piece made - this brings me joy on a daily basis," says Bellar.

Wickwire is also currently presenting the exhibit, Treasures of the Forest, featuring original oil paintings by Sarah Sneeden. The exhibit on view through Sept. 6, 2004, and includes images of trails, waterfalls, and towering pines from DuPont State Forest.
