August Issue 2006

City Art Gallery in Columbia, SC, Features Group Exhibition

City Art Gallery in Columbia, SC, is presenting the exhibition, Upstairs Down, featuring a group of work by artists shown by City Art on a continuing basis, on view through Aug. 26, 2006.

For all of those people who do not take the challenge to climb the 27 stairs to reach The Second Level Gallery, City Art Gallery will exhibit paintings in the Main and Side Galleries during the month of August, which normally would be missed without climbing the stairs. Some of the finest artwork in galleries around the world might never be seen without climbing some stairs. Now you may see a good selection of work by the following artists downstairs including: Kathy Casey, Tim Floyd, Don Zurlo, Heather Noe, Bruce Nellsmith and Esther Melton.

All of the works are abstracted variations of landscapes, themes and philosophies. The exhibit features oil and acrylic paintings in a wide variety of applications and color themes making this exhibit both pleasing to the eye and perplexing in its individuality.

We are proud to have this opportunity to showcase these works for the month of August. The trip to the Downstairs will be invigorating for all who take the time to visit. Come see what you've been missing Upstairs.
