Hilton Head Art League on Hilton Head Island, SC, Features Works by Peter Hadfalvi

Looking Around is the title of an exhibition of paintings by Peter Hadfalvi at the Hilton Head Art League Gallery in Pineland Station on Hilton Head Island, SC, from Aug. 1 - 26, 2006.

A professional engineer by training, Hadfalvi studied physics and mathematics in Europe, and graduated from the Carnegie Institute of Technology as an electrical engineer. He started painting in early childhood but didn't continue to paint, beginning again in the early 1960's when his painting of a Pennsylvania landscape won a first prize award. After a 25 year hiatus, Hadfalvi began painting once again in the 1990's and has been exhibiting his work in South Carolina.

To hone his art skills, Hadfalvi studied with Charles Gruppé, William A. Herring, Ben Konis, Tom Lynch, Joyce Nagel, Joyce Pike, Sheila Parsons, Carlton Plummer, Susan Sarback and Frank Webb.

Hadfalvi prefers to paint in oils and watercolors and uses these media to express his feelings and emotions. He also enjoys photography and has won awards with his photographs. Hadfalvi has been an officer of the Camera Club of Hilton Head and is the Studio Workshop Coordinator for the Hilton Head Art League. He is also a member of the Apple Pies group of artists, named after his outstandingly delicious apple pies.

Hadfalvi's work is in private collections in Colorado, Georgia, South Carolina, Pennsylvania and in several countries in Europe.

The Hilton Head Art League is a not-for-profit membership organization, dedicated to promoting the visual arts in the community and enhancing the art skills of its members. It operates a gallery in Pineland Station for the display and sale of artwork by its members. The Art League also operates the Art Academy at 106 Cordillo Parkway, providing classes in all mediums by local instructors.
