The Haen Gallery in Asheville, NC, Features Works by Susan Finer, Rich Nelson, and Clayton Santiago

The Haen Gallery, located in downtown Asheville, NC, is presenting a group exhibition of new work by Susan Finer, Rich Nelson, and Clayton Santiago. The exhibition will be on view through Aug. 7, 2008.

Susan Finer, Rich Nelson, and Clayton Santiago were all born in other parts of the country but each artist has settled in the Southeastern region.

Susan Finer

Finer has been a local Asheville artist since 2006 and incorporates her past experience with textile art into her current series of work. She paints in vibrant and colorful abstraction, evoking the texture and appearance of fiber.

Rich Nelson

Nelson is a Tryon, NC artist and is known for his portraiture but also enjoys landscape and still life. This new series will feature Plein-air landscapes done around Pisgah Forest, rich with lush summer color and flowing rivers.

Clayton Santiago (detail)

Santiago lives and works in Atlanta, GA, and explores the natural and spiritual worlds in his mixed media pieces. Through a process of layering epoxies, gold leaf, paint and tar, he brings to life elements of his southern heritage with depth and complexity.
