Green Rice Gallery in Charlotte, NC, Features Works by Teresa Hollmeyer

Green Rice Gallery in Charlotte, NC, will present the exhibit, A Brighter Day, featuring works by Teresa Hollmeyer, on view from Aug. 7 - 30, 2009.

As a child growing up on a farm, Hollmeyer spent more time outdoors than she did indoors, "I remember collecting rocks, sticks, rusted pieces of old machinery, and before I even knew what mosaics were, I was creating collages from these found objects."  Through the years, she tried many different forms of artistic expression, but always returned back to mosaics, "I love the colors, texture and shapes that this medium allows". Hollmeyer is a self-taught mosaicist. Even after thirteen years of creating all types of mosaics, she learns something new with each finished piece. Her love for the outdoors is represented in  her work and she finds new inspiration around every corner of life.
