Brookgreen Gardens in Murrells Inlet, SC, Offers National Sculpture Exhibition

Brookgreen Gardens in Murrells Inlet, SC, will present the National Sculpture Society's 77th Annual Exhibition, on view in the Rainey Sculpture Pavilion, from Aug. 7 through Oct. 31, 2010.

For the first time in its history, Brookgreen will be the exclusive venue for this prestigious national exhibition. The juried show includes the work from 50 leading sculptors from across the country, including 15 prize-winning works. During the course of the exhibit, visitors will be able to vote for their favorite sculptures to win Brookgreen Gardens' People's Choice Award. Announcement of the winner is made during a celebration on Oct. 30, 2010.

The National Sculpture Society was the first organization of professional sculptors formed in the United States whose purpose is to "spread the knowledge of good sculpture". Brookgreen Gardens is one of the largest collections of outdoor sculpture in America. This preeminent collection of American representational sculpture includes - 560 works by 240 artists - representing such well-known artists as Charles Parks, Daniel Chester French, Carl Milles, August Saint-Gaudens and Anna Hyatt Huntington.
