Richland Co. Public Library in Columbia, SC, Features Works by Grant Jackson

Grant Jackson presents the exhibit, Town and Country, a series of new paintings at the Wachovia Gallery located in the Richland County Public Library in Columbia, SC. The exhibition continues through Oct. 11, 2004.

Jackson has been an Assistant Educator at the Columbia Museum of Art since 2003, where he teaches portfolio classes and other advanced workshops and directs the film program. He uses large-scale abstraction in his paintings, and his current work explores the interaction between new urban and suburban environs. "I am excited to be showing my work in the heart of Columbia, a city undergoing so much rapid change," says the artist.

The exhibition will include new paintings created specifically for the gallery space, in addition to other works. Jackson earned an MFA in painting from Florida State University in 2003. He lives in Columbia, and he currently exhibits his work throughout the Midlands area and the Southeast. He has been included in national artist registries.
