Cabarrus Arts Council in Concord, NC, Features Works by Charlotte Doyle and Wil Bosbyshell

The Cabarrus Arts Council in Concord, NC, is presenting several exhibits including: Quilts, featuring works by Charlotte Doyle, and Eggs, featuring works by Wil Bosbyshell, both on view through Oct. 12, 2007.

Wil Bosbshell

Bosbyshell's stilllife paintings show eggs in bold colors with deep-cast shadows. The eggs are all painted balancing in an upright position, providing an unusual tension to the unlikely subjects. Most works feature a single egg and its shadow, but several include other items in the background. A teacher at The Art Institute of Charlotte, where he teaches color theory, life drawing, illustration and fundamentals of design, Bosbyshell maintains a studio in the Southend Cultural District on the trolley line in Charlotte, NC. His work has been exhibited throughout the Southeast and can be found in a number of corporate collections.

Charlotte Doyle

Charlotte Doyle, a native of Germany, has loved art and books all her life. After raising a family and selling her bookstore, she was inspired by two older friends who loved quilting and taught her the art form. Now she listens to books on CD while quilting in her studio. Doyle says that quilting allows her the solitude and creativity she needs and that she loves the idea of leaving something behind that she has created. Doyle is a member of the Cabarrus Art Guild and a volunteer at the Mint Museum in Charlotte.
