Eva Carter Gallery in Charleston, SC, Offers Works by Kathleen Earthrowl

Eva Carter Gallery in Charleston, SC, will present the exhibit Kathleen Earthrowl: New Arrivals, on view from Sept. 1 - 26, 2007.

Earthrowl paints water landscapes from an abstract perspective. Her work fuses bold emotional colors with the healing and calming subject of water. She is a colorist who thrills to the reflections of light on water and the density of the atmosphere. Drawing from memories of ponds near her childhood home in Brimfield, MA, Earthrowl's paintings capture moments such as a cool, refreshing grotto, dew at first light, or a blushing pond at sunset. Referring to her work as "Calligraphy in Nature," she invents a new place - an intimate setting of peacefulness.

Following a near sell-out show in March 2007, Earthrowl returned to her studio in Kingwood, TX, to begin work on a new series. The new paintings, some of which are inspired by a visit to Wadmalaw Island, SC, reflect a masterful use of color and texture as well as a romantic response to the natural beauty of her subject matter. Earthrowl's award-winning paintings are featured in museum and gallery exhibitions as well as corporate and private collections throughout the United States.
