September Issue 2010

Artists Guild Gallery of Greenville in Greenville, SC, Features Works by Jon McConnell

Artists Guild Gallery of Greenville in Greenville, SC, will present an exhibit of works by Jon McConnell, on view from Sept. 1 - 30, 2010.

Painter, writer, and musician, McConnell has studied various forms of art for over thirty years in America and Europe. Through his ardor for words, canvas, and notes, he has found a voice to discover, interpret and record the hurts and healings - the feelings and dealings - that lay in the raw of the heart of all of us.

Over the years, McConnell has found himself increasingly drawn to the world of Modern Art, specifically, the simple poise and reductive composition of Geometric Abstraction. He believes that by introducing organic elements and personal emotions into his work, that each observer has the opportunity to walk away with their own private experience and definition of what the piece means.
About the show:

Over twenty local artists are represented in the gallery along with various mediums including acrylic, mixed media, oil and watercolor paintings, jewelry, glass, woodwork and sculpture. One or more of the artists is in the gallery at all times, demonstrating throughout the day and always ready to discuss their art with visitors.
