Five Charlotte Artists Join Forces for an Exhibit

Multiple artists, multiple media, multiple subjects - one opportunity, two days, Sept. 24 & 25, to see five individual Charlotte artists' multiple perspectives in paint. Multiple Perspectives will be at the home of Dru Scott Warmath and will feature works by Ingrid Amols, Wil Bosbyshell, Laurie McGuire, Dillard Richardson, and Dru Scott Warmath.

Artists thrive on individuality and solitude in order to seek inspiration from within. Yet, throughout history individual artists have been driven to form groups for a variety of reasons.

Five Charlotte artists have done just that - formed a group to encourage and exhibit together. The five artists in the perspective group have differences. They work in a variety of mediums, are attracted and motivated by a wide range of subject matter, and have arrived at this point in time from many backgrounds.

Laurie McGuire focuses her talents on the color that she sees in landscapes and
still life paintings executed in watercolor, pastel and oil. Dru Scott Warmath explores color relationships in large scale, abstract watercolors and oils. Wil Bosbyshell jumped out of airplanes as an army officer before pursuing a career as a professional artist. His work captures architectural detail in cityscapes. Ingrid Amols loves to teach children the joy of color and composition and Dillard Richardson, working primarily in the "plein air" tradition of painting outdoors, uses watercolor to create a mood and represent a moment in time.

Each artist has exhibited previously, but separately. Warmath is represented by Hodges-Taylor Gallery, Charlotte. Bosbyshell's work has exhibited at the Central Piedmont Community College gallery, in Charlotte, and in Budapest, Hungary. McGuire has shown work in Montana and in the Eclectix Market Place. Richardson's jazz series paintings are hanging in the South Park Suites Hotel. Amols has exhibited in the Finger Lakes region of NY.

These artists have similarities. They all live in Charlotte. They are all painters and share a need for external input and energy that arises when artists gather.
