The Art Of Modern Printmaking At Merrill-Jennings Galleries in Davidson

The Art Of Modern Printmaking, which will be on view through Nov. 24 at Merrill-Jennings Galleries in Davidson, NC, will be the art event of the year, for the gallery. The show features a potpourri of original etchings, lithographs, serigraphs, woodcuts, and monoprints by top popular printmakers of the Twentieth Century.

Pablo Picasso

The line-up of exhibitors resembles the United Nations: (Spain) Salvador Dali, Cuca Romley, and Pablo Picasso; (France) Jan Balet and Philippe Noyer; (Italy) Amletto Dalla Costa; (Germany) Elke Sommer; (Romania) Laila Farcas-Ionesco and Dan Mitra; and (China) Chen Chase.

Exhibitors from the United States include Charlotte Foust and Pamela Ferguson from Charlotte, NC, Derrick Brown (Philadelphia), Ray Byram (Atlanta), Bruce McCombs (Ohio), Judy Rifka (New York), Pamela Shore (Boston), Hal Singer and Dane Tilghman (Pennsylvania).

The show literally reached around the world to assemble diverse styles from different cultures in order to present a mix representative of our past 100 years. The exhibit is intended to build an appreciation for hand-pulled graphics. Free materials are available about the artists and print-making techniques. All works are for sale.
