Asheville Gallery of Art Shows Works by Ruth Ilg
The Asheville Gallery of Art, in Asheville, NC, will feature as its Artist-of-the-Month painter Ruth Ilg and her exhibition Abundance ...a Gathering of Flowers and other Friends from Oct. 2 through Oct. 31.
Ilg, an accomplished artist, tri-lingual poet, and photographer, is a native of Germany. She resides and works in Asheville, and on Lake Constance, Germany. After a career in accounting, tax consultancy, and international business, her lifetime passion for art and literature evolved into a full time metier beginning in 1985. Ilg has studied with well-known artists in Europe and in the United States, resulting in a continuing strong desire to work within a wide spectrum of techniques, styles, media and themes.
Ilg is renowned for her meticulous watercolor, gouache and pastel botanicals, brilliant mixed-media abstract paintings and collages, miniature landscapes in oil, vibrant acrylic geometric designs, luminous glass paintings, and also for her innovative and unique encaustic work. She is a frequently exhibited artist and photographer, and a widely published poet. She has won numerous awards for her creative work, which can be found in private collections around the world.
