Wilkes County Quilter's Guild Presents a Two-Day Quilt Show in North Wilkesboro, NC
Wilkes County Quilter's Guild will present Wilkes Quilts! - a quilt show to be held Oct. 5 from 10am-7pm and Oct. 6 from 10am-5pm at Benton Hall Gym, North Wilkesboro, NC. The Apple Festival is also held in North Wilkesboro on Oct. 6. The purpose is to showcase quilts and quilted items made by the members of the guild and features two trunk shows and a vendors mall. Special guest on Oct. 5 from 5-7pm will be Madra Prater, Wilkes County resident and winner of the 2000 Sulky Challenge.
Approximately 25 quilts and quilted wearables made by world famous quilter, author, and star of her own PBS Series, Georgia Bonesteel will be displayed as well as the 2001 Sulky Challenge trunk show featuring award winning wall hangings and quilted wearables from this year's competition. A boutique will have quilted items for sale made by members of the guild. The vendors mall will have for sale sewing machines, fabric, kits, pins, and thimbles.
Admission is free. Donation tickets will be
available for a chance to win one of two donation quilts made
by guild members. The proceeds from these tickets will be used
to fund future community service projects and workshops.
