October Issue 2002
Artspace in Raleigh, NC, Features Works by Nina Lane Neily
A memorial exhibition entitled, As She Would Like to Be Remembered, will open on Oct. 4, for Nina Lane Neily, an Artspace Artist Association member and resident of Artspace for more than ten years. The exhibition, features in Artspace's Upfront Gallery, in Raleigh, NC, continues through Oct. 26, 2002.
As She Would Like to Be Remembered is a tribute to Neily, an artist whose work touched the Artspace community. Her energy and optimism were inspirational to those who knew her.
Neily has said, "Integrity as a craftsperson/artist is one of my foremost desires. It is important that I keep pushing the envelope..."
Neily received many awards and honors for her work, including a Southern Arts Federation Fellowship through a re-granting program of the National Endowment of the Arts. She exhibited her work nationally and was a member of several professional organizations, including the Society of North American Goldsmiths, Piedmont Craftsmen, and the North Carolina Society of Goldsmiths.
In addition to Neily's metalwork, two-dimensional artwork from her personal collection will be on display.
