Asheville Gallery of Art in Asheville, NC, Features Works by Kerstin McDaniel
In Asheville, NC, Kerstin McDaniel, an Asheville artist who works in a variety of media - fabrics, oils, watercolors and pastels, is the Asheville Gallery of Art "Artist of the Month" for Oct., 2002.
McDaniel's work is characterized by layering of vibrant colors and texture, both in her paintings and fiber pieces. Her textiles are created primarily for Liturgical use and can be seen in churches in a wide area. Her paintings are inspired by her love of gardening. This group of recent work is entitled simply Wall Flowers.
McDaniel is one of the charter members of the co-operative gallery, the oldest gallery in Downtown Asheville, now in its fifteenth year of operation.
