Plan to Attend Greenville Open Studios in Greenville, SC
Greenville Open Studios is a self-guided weekend tour of 58 local artists' studios within a 15 mile radius of downtown Greenville, SC, planned for Nov. 16 & 17, 2002.
Greenville Open Studios gives the public the opportunity to see local artists at work in their studios. Designed as a self-guided tour, individuals can review the event catalogue and select the artists that they want to visit. Artists will have their studios open to visits and tours between 11am-5pm each day.
A catalogue and map will be published by The Greenville News prior to the event and will be available at galleries, retail outlets and the Greenville County Museum of Art. The catalogue will feature a sample of each participating artist's work.
The Greenville County Museum of Art will also feature an exhibit of some of the Open Studios artists entitled, "From the Studio. The exhibit will be on view Nov. 13 - Jan. 5, 2003.
The Metropolitan Arts Council (MAC) provides funding and technical assistance to arts groups, individual artists and schools in Greenville County. Founded in 1973, MAC strives to provide programs that enrich all citizens, artists, cultural organizations and communities of the metropolitan Upstate.
The Greenville Open Studios Project is being made possible by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts and through sponsorships from Bank of America, Liberty Corporation, Fluor, Bi-Lo, and the Don and Zelma Waggoner Foundation.
