October Issue 2002
Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County in Camden, SC, Features Works by Bill Blizard
The digital blues paintings of Bill Blizard will be on display in the Bassett Gallery of the Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County in Camden, SC, from Oct. 1 - 31, 2002. The exhibit is being offered in conjunction with the FAC's Annual Carolina Downhome Blues Festival.
Newly transplanted Lowcountry artist Bill Blizard
has developed a major series of photopaintings derived from his
intensive interest in and personal observation of the Blues. Many
of the works portray Blues musicians in larger-than-life scale,
using multiple images and dramatic color contrasts.
Blizard will offer all of these paintings for sale with a portion
of the purchase price going to the Lowcountry Blues Relief Fund
that supports musicians in special need.
Many of the musicians portrayed in his paintings
will be performing live at the Carolina Downhome Blues Festival,
held Oct. 3-5, 2002.
