Moring Arts Center in Asheboro, NC, Offers Exhibit of Small Sculptures
The Moring Arts Center in Asheboro, NC, is proud to present the Suitcase Exchange Show in the Main Gallery from Oct. 1-30, 2002. This exhibition is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Asheboro.
The Suitcase Exchange Show comes from the imagination of the Tri-State Sculptors Educational Association, Inc. and is curated by Greg Shelnutt of Winston-Salem. Forty-one artists have been invited to submit individual works of art no larger than can be transported in a suitcase. This show will travel to several locations in the United States and possibly internationally. Asheboro is the first stop.
Greg Shelnutt says, "The concept for the exhibition is to meet with and temporarily exchange our work with sculptors internationally... In the post 9/11 world, there is even more need to attempt cross-border communication. The most important aspect of this (show) is the dialogue.., nothing can replace human contact."
