Transylvania Community Arts Center in Brevard, NC, Features Exhibit Relating to Musical Instruments
The Transylvania Community Arts Center in Brevard,
NC, will present an exhibition entitled, Music in the Wind,
which will be on view through Nov. 15, 2002. This Arts Center
exhibit will feature a variety of beautiful and unusual musical
instruments along with arts and crafts related to music. This
exhibit is an open show, meaning it will feature works from a
variety of artists in a variety of mediums.
A highlight of the exhibit will be a display of photographs featuring
famous musicians from the Atlanta, GA, music scene of the 1960s
and beyond. The photographs were taken by nationally known commercial
photographer and educator Joseph Reshower, a resident of Transylvania
County, who worked under the professional name of Joe DeCasseris
for most of his career. Reshower's love of the performing arts,
brought him to capture images of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra,
the Atlanta Ballet and several regional theaters.
