October Issue 2002
The Wells Gallery in Charleston, SC, Features Works by Glenn Harrington
The Wells Gallery in Charleston, SC, will be
presenting the works of renowned artist Glenn Harrington during
the Fourth
Charleston Fine Art Annual weekend, Nov. 1-3, 2002. The exhibition
opens Nov. 1 and continues through Nov. 19, 2002.
Harrington is internationally known for his
paintings of the sport of golf. For the first time, the Wells
Gallery will be showing a number of his original golf paintings
that have been published in magazines such as Sports Illustrated
and Golf Magazine. In these paintings, Harrington captures
the sense of movement and energy of golfers such as Arnold Palmer
and Ben Hogan. Whether you are an avid golfer or not, you most
certainly will appreciate the beauty of the sport captured in
these paintings.
Harrington's golf paintings are only the beginning of what this
talented artist chooses to paint. He is also noted for his exquisite
and enigmatic figurative paintings, from young children with glowing
faces to the engaging eyes of beautiful women. Everyone will be
drawn in by the luscious garments the women are wearing and their
striking, expressive eyes. These paintings are a must see.
Being Harrington's first show in the Southern United States, he will also have a small selection of Lowcountry landscapes, as well as scenes of lovely Charleston gardens.
