Participating artists will depict views and visions of life in Henderson County, past, present and future. From the natural beauty and majesty of Western North Carolina surroundings to the richness of character that is embraced in the area's history, people, architecture and events, artists will portray their interpretations of the area. Wickwire gallery owner, Shirley Palmer-Hill and Framing Arts owners, David Osann and Heather Barker collaborate to encourage and advance two-dimensional artists in the area. The competition creates an opportunity for the community to reflect on the visual arts and relish all that has made this quaint yet cosmopolitan location such a unique place to live in and visit.

Osann and Barker, owners of Framing Arts explain that they "frame art with the art of framing." They provide the Hendersonville community and its surrounding area with a personal craftsmanship in preservation techniques and materiels as well as a professional involvement in the arts. From an original oil painting, to a priceless heirloom or snapshots of a family vacation, Framing Arts accomplishes custom work in a gallery both riveting and friendly. Since 1998, Wickwire fine art/folk art Gallery has showcased museum-quality artwork partnering with artists to display and offer exceptional art choices in an environment for reflection and inspiration. "The artists we represent." says owner, Shirley Palmer-Hill, "have a passion for their work. We offer two floors of open, refreshing gallery space to show their many creative talents. For example, two-dimensional works (paintings) in ink or oils, watercolors, pastels, acrylics, or mixed media, that will be on exhibit following our "City of Four Seasons juried competition, reveal what artists feel and think. Their artwork is expressive, exciting. It portrays an enthusiasm we want to share as you enter our welcoming surroundings."
