TwoArtChicks in Greensboro, NC, Offers Juried Exhibition with Focus on Greensboro
TwoArtChicks in Greensboro, NC, is proud to announce Greensboro Connects: Visions of Greensboro, a locally juried competition and exhibition, which will be on exhibit through Oct. 31 , 2003.
As a way to celebrate Greensboro and foster community pride, the exhibition focuses on the artist's vision of Greensboro and features the works of both professional and amateur artists. A special student division for grades 9-12 is also included. The exhibition was juried by a select group of area nonprofit gallery directors and curators, and final award judging will be made by Greensboro city officials.
Cash awards for Best in Show, Second Prize, Third Prize and Best in Show - Student will total $1000, plus $2500 in Corporate Purchase Awards. There will also be Honorable Mentions and Gift Certificates awarded.
Greensboro Connects: Visions of Greensboro is a community wide initiative to celebrate and promote Greensboro through the visual and musical arts. Designed to further increase civic pride by offering an opportunity for residents to participate in the making of art and being included in the finished productions, artists of all ages, both professional and amateur, will also take part in a series of community events to capture the diverse beauty of Greensboro. Greensboro Connects: Visions of Greensboro will also help to build larger and more diverse audiences for participating cultural groups, thus helping to sustain the economic health of these art groups and ensure the continued cultural health and richness of our community.
TwoArtChicks represents close to 300 diverse artists from across the country. Its gallery showcases original artwork and fine crafts: everything from watercolors, oils, acrylics, pastels, ceramics, jewelry, fiber arts, cards, metal, sculpture, dolls, mixed media, wood and much more! The gallery has something for every taste and every budget! In addition to its sales gallery, TwoArtChicks also has 12 working artist studios for lease annually, offers classes and workshops by local, national and international artists in traditional arts and fine crafts and offers the building for rental for special events and activities.
