Brush and Palette Club in Sanford, NC, Presents Fall Show & Sale
The Sanford Brush and Palette Club, in Sanford, NC, will host its 40th anniversary Fall Show and Sale from Oct. 30, through Nov. 7, 2004, at the Lee County Parks and Recreation Dept. Hales Center (Sanford's old armory).
More than 120 members will feature their paintings
in watercolor, oil and acrylics. In addition, members who work
in three-dimensional media will exhibit wood carvings and sculptures.
Prior to the show's public opening, entries will be professionally
judged and awarded honors for excellence. Most all works will
be for sale. Susan Beal is show chairman.
The Brush and Palette Club was founded in 1964 by a small group
of artists who enjoyed each other's guidance in painting. For
many years, they met in their homes to share suggestions and inspiration.
Their works are in private collections and exhibited in banks,
restaurants, schools, hospitals, medical and corporate offices
throughout the eastern United States. With steady growth of membership,
the Brush and Palette is beginning efforts to establish a permanent
studio and gallery in Sanford. Members envision facilities to
work, to offer artistic workshops and to provide a public gallery.
A number of fund-raisers are under way. The club is committed
to continuing to enrich the lives of its members, Lee County residents
and visitors.
The Brush and Palette Club is a non-profit organization, funded by membership dues, tax deductible donations and commissions from the sale of art during the show.
