Asheville Gallery of Art in Asheville, NC, Features Works by Donald Blome
The Asheville Gallery of Art in Asheville, NC, will features works by Asheville painter Donald Blome in the exhibit, Mountain Landscapes and Subjects by the Sea, through Oct. 31, 2005.
Growing up in Michigan, Blome was surrounded by farmland, forest, rolling hills and the Great Lakes. This gave his a lasting awareness of nature, and an intense interest in drawing and painting. Subjects for this exhibit Mountain Landscapes and Subjects by the Sea, range from the mountains and coast of NC to the rugged coast of Iceland.
Blome received a BA in Fine Arts and Painting from Michigan State University. He continued his development through work at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and through private study.
Working as a graphic designer and illustrator for national known clients, Blome created award winning communications for more than twenty five years. Since moving to Asheville in 1993, he has devoted full time to drawing, painting, and working in both oils and water media.
