Caldwell Arts Council in Lenior, NC, Features Annual Competition
The Caldwell Arts Council in Lenior, NC, will hold the 29th Visual Artist Competition, on Oct. 7 - 28, 2005.
The competition features the work of Caldwell County's own talented artists. Visual artists from throughout the county will be featuring their varied works. All Caldwell County artists 18 years and older who live, work, or attend school in Caldwell County have been invited to participate in the 29th Visual Artist Competition. This exhibit is a non-juried show. All 2 and 3-dimensional media excluding photography may be presented.
Artists will be competing for two Best in Show awards, $250 each, and two Honorable Mention awards, $100 each. Sponsors for this year are Bernhardt Furniture Company, Grand Manor Furniture, LA Properties and the Caldwell Women's Club.
The juror for this event is Brooke Bower Greene. Greene is the Assistant Curator for the Turchin Center for Visual Arts located in Boone, NC. In 2001, Greene received her Bachelor of Science in Art Management, and Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art in Ceramics from Appalachian State University. A Greensboro, NC, native, Greene has been the recipient of numerous awards and grants. Her accomplishments also include internships with the Catherine J. Smith Gallery in Boone and the Morning Song Gallery in Lenoir, NC.
