North Charleston City Gallery in North Charleston, SC, Offers Works by Anne Von Kolnitz
The
City of North Charleston's Cultural Arts Department is pleased
to announce that a collection of original pastels by local artist
Anne Von Kolnitz will be featured from Oct. 1 - 31, 2005, at the
North Charleston City Gallery, located in the Charleston Area
Convention Center, in North Charleston, SC.
The exhibit entitled, A Passion for Pastels, will include
approximately 20-25 pieces. Kolnitz resides in Mt. Pleasant, SC,
and delights in capturing people, landscapes, scenes, and items
representative of the Lowcountry. Viewers will recognize familiar
sights and personalities that are unique to Charleston and the
sea islands. Her use of pastels is remarkably life-like and draws
visitors to her subjects. The artist describes working in pastels
as a true hands-on experience "the chalk, the ground, and
me".
The Cultural Arts Program is the recipient of the 2000 Elizabeth O'Neill Verner Award for the Arts and receives support from the National Endowment for the Arts, SC Arts Commission, the US Department of HUD, and the corporate community.
