The Sylvan Gallery in Charleston, SC, Offers Group Exhibition
The Sylvan Gallery in Charleston, SC, proudly exhibits a Group Show of works by its gallery artists during the month of October. With a large stable of nationally known artists, the gallery presents a uniform vision of atmosphere, beauty and slices of life.
Local artist Rhett Thurman's oil paintings are displayed with the sculptural works of Glenna Goodacre, the foremost female sculptor in this country. Dan Gerhartz, Scott Burdick and Paul Strisik's paintings complement each other with confident brush strokes depicting the world about. Paintings by Sue Lyon and Nancy Bush provide a quiet lushness demonstrating that the harshness of life has not taken over. William Berra, Barry Thomas and Sonya Terpening remind us of our childhood in the simple pleasures of the beach and country.
Joan Potter, Karol Mack and Kate Palmer each present paintings of subtle coloring and peaceful scenery. Tim Cherry's stylized sculptures of animals are sure to put a smile on any collector's face. While the work of Ted Ellis, the featured artist for Nov., 2005, incorporate multilevel stories in small paintings with a poignant nostalgia. This is just a sampling of the works to be seen at this stellar gallery bringing new visions to Charleston.
The Sylvan Gallery represents national and internationally known painters and sculptors who create representational works for the 21st century. The gallery is a member of the Charleston Fine Art Dealers' Association which created the Charleston Fine Art Weekend seven years ago to promote understanding worldwide of Charleston's place for the last 300 years as an arts' destination.
