b.brown gallery in Matthews, NC, Features Works by Suzanne Ledermann and Jo Williams
b.brown gallery in Matthews, NC, will present an exhibit of works by Suzanne Ledermann and Jo Williams, on view from Oct. 7 through Nov. 3, 2006.
Suzanne Ledermann is a native of Wilkes County, NC. She has lived with her husband, George, for the past 36 years in Charlotte. Drawing and painting have always been a part of her life. Ledermann works in oil, acrylic, pastel, watercolor, and clay. Bold brush strokes and surprising color combinations bring poignancy to her paintings. Among her favorite subjects are people captured in endearing moments.
Jo Williams is a native of North Carolina now
living in Hilton Head, SC, with her husband, Harry. Although primarily
self taught, she has studied at the Arrowmont School of Arts and
Crafts and also in private classes with both bonnie brown and
Sue Beeren. Williams is the creator of a mixed media form she
calls "tissue oils". The work is expressionistic and
influenced by her travels to the Lowcountry of South Carolina,
the mountains of Colorado, and the wine regions of California.
