October Issue 2006
Converse College in Spartanburg, SC, Features Works by Ann Gleason
Converse College in Spartanburg, SC, will ßpresent
the exhibit, Voices of Clay, featuring works by Ann Gleason.
The exhibition will be on view in the Milliken Art Gallery from
Oct. 4 through Nov. 2, 2006.
The folk-art style of Gleason originates from her love for the
natural and cultural aspects of Appalachia. She views the human,
plant and animal imagery in her work as compositions attempting
to relate a mood, gesture or vignette into her thoughts concerning
her love of this place.
Gleason will teach ceramic courses at Converse during the college's 2007 Jan. Term.
