Charleston, SC's French Quarter Gallery Association Holds Fall 2006 Art Walk - Oct. 6, 2006, 5-8pm
Several new galleries have been admitted to the French Quarter Gallery Association since the May 2006 Art Walk. Visitors to Charleston, SC, enjoy the visual arts all year long. Charleston offers one of the finest and most abundant gallery districts in the country. Recently Ranked #4 of the Top Ten Small Cities for the Arts by American Style Magazine. Stroll the cobbled streets and gas lit alleyways of the original walled city to discover the works of hundreds of artist representing a diverse variety of styles and mediums from traditional to contemporary.
Collectors from all parts of the globe enjoy the cities character, culture, and charming arts district, offering the work of over 600 in thirty-plus galleries all within walking distance. Collectors, locals, and visitors come together for one of Charleston's favorite social and cultural events, the Art Walk, sponsored seasonally by FQGA.
Maps of all Galleries are available at any French Quarter Art Gallery and at the Charleston Visitor Center, or check with your Hotel Concierge. The French Quarter is located within the original walled city of Charleston between S. Market and Tradd, and Meeting Street to the waterfront past East Bay Street.
The French Quarter Gallery Association has now made it easier to find your way through the downtown city streets from gallery to gallery with a new map and an easy to navigate website at (www.frenchquarterarts.com).
Art Walks are held seasonally on the first Friday of March, May, October and December from 5-8pm and are free and open to the public.
