Hickory Museum of Art in Hickory, NC, Features Exhibit of Historical Photos
The Hickory Museum of Art in Hickory, NC, is presenting the exhibit, Live With History: Images from The New York Times Photo Archives, on view in the Museum's Coe Gallery, through Jan. 14, 2007.
The New York Times Photo Archives consists of over seven million photographs, documenting many of the most memorable moments in US and World history for nearly a century. There are numerous iconic images that are instantly recognized and those that simply take the viewer back to a specific place and time.
The Museum's Educators, Kate Worm and Ginny
Zellmer are maximizing this opportunity for area schools by offering
a host of enrichment programs, such as guided tours and hands-on-activities.
All students will learn from this exhibition which ties into NC's
Standard Course of Study competency goals for Language Arts, History
and American Literature, especially 5th and 11th grades.
