SOLO Art Gallery in Winston-Salem, NC, Offers Works by Loren DiBenedetto
Loren DiBenedetto: Recent Works, a solo exhibition featuring her recent oil paintings, is on view at SOLO Art Gallery in Winston-Salem, NC. DiBenedetto is an incredibly accomplished realist and her paintings of flowers, fruits, vegetables and landscapes will be on exhibit at the gallery through Nov. 7, 2006.
"As an artist, it's my intention to successfully paint light falling on objects, creating a dynamic composition," says DiBenedetto. "For me it's all about how light affects the subject. I am a realist who paints to exaggerate reality in a large format. The viewer's impression of a piece is the most important component of my work."
Born in Carteret, NJ, DiBenedetto was classically trained in painting when she attended DuCret School of the Arts in nearby Plainfield. She graduated with a degree in Fine Arts and then continued her studies at the National Academy School of Fine Arts and the Art Student League, both located in New York City. In 1990, DiBenedetto moved to North Carolina and often uses the beautiful marshes and rivers of the state as subjects for her landscapes.
DiBenedetto is known for her bold still life
paintings, vivid floral compositions and dramatic life drawings.
She has won numerous awards in regional juried competitions and
has been accepted to exhibit in national shows. A member of the
Oil Painters of America as well as regional art guilds, DiBenedetto
has gathered a strong following in the past twenty years.
DiBenedetto has been combining her richly detailed images of fruits
with her expressive cloud imagery, forest paths, sand dunes and
bird nests, for an effect that is both real and surreal. The exhibition
will feature paintings in various sizes, including some large
floral triptychs.
