Haywood County Arts Council in Waynesville, NC, Offers Exhibits of Abstract Works
Haywood County Arts Council in Waynesville, NC, will offer two exhibitions featuring abstract works of art by artists who live and work in Western North Carolina.
The exhibit, First Abstraction, will be presented in Gallery 86 from Oct. 22 to Nov. 10, 2007. The exhibit will include works by Cindy Flowers, Gabrielle Crowther, Genie Maples, Robin Sierra, Karen Ives, and Lillian Byers.
The exhibit, Second Abstraction, will be presented in Gallery 86 from Nov. 12 to Dec. 1, 2007. This exhibit will include works by Bill Clements, Greg McPherson, Mike Campbell, and Stephen Lange.
Western North Carolina encompasses an incredibly vast range of abstract artists who comprise a large component of the local art scene. Display and exhibit of abstract work in a number of different mediums exposes people to a facet of visual art that may not be familiar and, in turn, is culturally enhancing to the community.
