Presbyterian College in Clinton, SC, Features Works
by Ralph Paquin
Presbyterian College in Clinton, SC, is presenting the exhibit, Between Mind and Essence, featuring works by Ralph Paquin, on view through Oct. 9, 2008, in the Elizabeth Stone Harper Gallery in the Harper Center for the Arts.
Paquin, Professor of Art and Chair of the Art Department at Presbyterian College returns from a semester's sabbatical with new works. Using the influence of ceramics and glazing process and bold colors, his new series of whimsical two-dimensional cut-outs and collages demonstrate the "essence" of an artist's exploratory bliss.
Paquin has exhibited his work both nationally and internationally, with a most recent exhibit at the Art College Gallery at Guizhou University in Guiyang, China. He received his Master of Fine Arts in Ceramics at Cranbrook Academy of Art and his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sculpture at the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth.
