Designs from China
The exhibit, Designed in China: Contemporary Design from Shenzhen University, featuring more than 70 pieces by more than 100 Shenzhen University students, will be on view through Oct. 28, 2008, at UNC Asheville's Highsmith University Union Gallery. The exhibit will highlight recent works, which fuse contemporary design, influences of Chinese culture and current science and technology.
The exhibition includes 2D and 3D computer animation, video and motion media, digital stills, comics and storyboards, fashion design and garments, graphic design, industrial design and environmental design. The university, located on the coastline of Shenzhen Bay in southern China, offers bachelor's and master's degrees in five main fields of design, which are represented in the exhibit.
