Toll Booth Art Gallery in Charleston, SC, Features Works by Arnold Edmondson
Double Dipping Destiny, featuring new and current works by Arnold Edmondson, will be on view at The Toll Booth Art Gallery in Charleston, SC, through Jan. 10.
Born and raised in the Lowcountry, and painting since he was five, local artist Arnold Edmondson has been putting his own spin on images of the Lowcountry while steadily moving from an outsider's existence to the forefront of the Charleston Art scene. Edmondson is gaining momentum as one of the most original and innovative artists that the country has to offer. His work is "blatantly honest, electric, extraordinary, and anything but static."
Edmondson's ingenious creations of animated sculpture and paintings are making their way around Charleston galleries. As a significant force of artistic expression, he brings a much-needed edge to the Charleston Art Scene and commands well-deserved and noteworthy attention.
Three years ago The Toll Booth Art Gallery
opened with the intention of giving local unknown artists a place
to exhibit and sell their work. It began with 20 unknown artists,
and in less than two years the gallery now proudly boast an astonishing
"grassroots movement" of over 200 gifted local artists,
and that number is growing daily. The mission has always been
to support local artists by introducing the public to their unique
and innovative work. All of the artwork is a mixture of traditional
and non-traditional styles, and all of the works represent a true
sense of pride and appreciation for the Lowcountry and our great
state of SC. Several of the artists have won local awards and
prestigious commissions with Piccolo Spoleto and the new South
Carolina Aquarium.
