Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte, NC, Features Photographic Works by Chanan Getraide
Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte, NC, will present an exhibition entitled, Son of the Kibbutz: Chanan Getraide, in the CPCC Art Gallery from Jan. 16 - Feb. 22, 2002.
Chanan Getraide was born in 1945 in Kibbutz Shiller, Israel. A professional photographer and member of the Professional Photographers' Association of Israel, he honed his photographic skills at Hadassah College in Jerusalem and the Tel Aviv Camera Academy.
In the year 2000, Getraide won First Place in the Second International Competition for Nature Photography in Israel. In addition to numerous exhibitions in Israel, Getraide has participated in exhibitions in Italy and the Netherlands.
Getraide's work ranges from industrial photo-documentaries to nature studies. This exhibit at CPCC will focus on his nature studies. This is his first exhibition in the US.
