Shain Fine Art in Charlotte, NC, Features Solo Exhibition by Artist - Baptiste

Shain Fine Art in Charlotte, NC, will present a solo exhibition of new works by the artist, Baptiste, from Jan. 25 through Feb 24, 2002. The public is invited to come out and experience Baptiste's impressionistic imagery.

Privately and commercially collected throughout the US and Europe, Baptiste is establishing himself as a force within the art world. The style of American artist Baptiste is powerful and captivating. The heavy paint laden brush strokes and bold colors give his subjects an interesting and lively personality.

Baptiste draws his images from travels at home and abroad. Each piece draws the viewer in through his unique use of colors and texture, dotting the canvas to create shadows and shapes that bring out the literal image. Baptiste comments, "How can you define art? It has a different meaning to everyone that walks the earth. I must have an emotional connection to every piece that I create. This is what inspires me and brings life into my art. My paintings and drawings must evoke emotion, making one stop and reflect. If I have done this, then I have succeeded. This is my constant torment."
