Janaury Issue 2003
The Art Garage Gallery and Auction House
in Columbia, SC, Features Exhibit Based on Found Objects
Roadside Assistance: An Exhibit of Found-Object Art, will
be on view from Jan. 4 - 23, 2003, at The Art Garage Gallery and
Auction House in Columbia, SC.
This show was an endeavor to get businesses to publicly support the visual arts by making it affordable, fun, and accessible. Each business donated a found-object from their business, and we added found objects from The Art Garage's collection. Artists were then invited to create sculptural pieces from the objects. The resulting pieces of work will be included in a silent auction held on Jan. 4, 2003, where the bidding will begin at $50 on each piece. All unsold pieces will be donated to the Dining with Friends Art Auction benefitting the SC Aids Benefit Foundation.
