Janaury Issue 2003
Richland County Public Library in Columbia, SC, to Host Bess Daniels Exhibit
An exhibition of mosaics by Bess Daniels will be on display in the Wachovia Gallery of the Richland County Public Library, in Columbia, SC, beginning Jan. 7. The exhibit, which focuses on a variety of colorful themes including African culture, the environment and children, will run through Feb. 24, 2003.
Influenced by artists like Georgia O' Keefe and Caroline Swanson, Daniels also derives inspiration from her love of colors and children. An avid environmental supporter, she hopes her art will subtly encourage others to keep the environment clean. Daniels received her art degree from Virginia Union University in Richmond, VA; her art was shown there in Aug. 2002.
A resident of Blythewood, SC, Daniels is also a jazz and blues vocalist, lyricist and poet. She is a board member of the South Carolina Philharmonic and past board member of the New Haven Philharmonic.
