Transylvania Community Arts Center in Brevard, NC, Goes to the Dogs for New Year
The Transylvania County Arts Council will kick off its new year with a light-hearted exhibit in celebration of man's best friend. The exhibition, Make No Bones About It: Dogs, Dogs, Dogs, will be on view at the Transylvania Community Arts Center in Brevard, NC, from Jan. 13 - Feb. 27, 2003.
Local residents are encouraged to make their favorite dog-treat recipe (there are many on the Internet) and bring in a sample of their cookery to the "Dog Bone Bake-Off", on Feb. 2, at 2:30pm. Duncan of Kent, a yellow Labrador, will be our official taste-tester. Also at this event, guests will be treated to a dog-treat cooking-demonstration by local dog-lover Bill Sirls, and a musical medley of favorite dog songs by a group of local ladies.
"Children and adults are going to have a dog-gone good time at the "Dog Bone Bake-Off," said Susan Threlkel, co-director of the Transylvania County Arts Council.
