Charleston County Public Library in Charleston, SC, Features Works by Elizabeth Gaines McKeever
Elizabeth Gaines
McKeever will share her work from Jan. 2 - 31, 2005, in the Saul
Alexander Foundation Gallery, located on the first floor of the
Charleston County Public Library's Main Library, in downtown Charleston,
SC. McKeever's exhibit is entitled Meditations.
McKeever holds an MFA in Painting from the Savannah College of
Art and Design. She earned her BA at Wesleyan College in Macon,
GA, with a major in Studio Art and a minor in Philosophy. She
currently teaches at the Gibbes studio and is a partner in Luna
Design Studio, LC: a mural and trompe l'oeil painting business.
In 2002, McKeever tutored actress Rachel McAdams in painting for
the filming of the movie, The Notebook. She was also the
artist in residence for the Gibbes Museum of Art in 2002. McKeever's
paintings often contain parables or analogies that comment on
the search for God within us, and in the world around us.
