Hodges Taylor Gallery in Charlotte, NC. Features Works by Paul Harcharik
Hodges Taylor Gallery in Charlotte, NC, will present the exhibition, Paul Harcharik: An Intimate View, from Jan. 7 through Feb. 26, 2005.
Having grown
up in North Carolina, Harcharik is now returning following several
successful years near Seattle. Formerly the Director of Printmaking
at Spirit Square Center for the Arts in Charlotte (1979-81), and
currently an adjunct instructor at the University of North Carolina
at Asheville, this artist articulates an intimate representation
of the familiar landscape.
Harcharik's awards and honors include Grant for Artist Projects,
Seattle, 1993; Public Art Commission, Washington State Arts Commission,
1996; Juror's Award, The Halpert Biennial National Juried Competition,
Appalachian State University, Boone, NC, 2001, 2003. His
work is in the collections of The Metropolitan Museum of Art,
NY; Victoria and Albert Museum, London; Achenbach Foundation,
Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, CA; and Southeastern Center
for Contemporary Art, Winston Salem, NC.
